Backyard chickens

We have been asked several times about being more local and self sustaining.
So I wanted to do a short post about how we raise chickens, guinea fowl, ducks, rabbits, and goats for eggs, meat, and milk (which we can make butter, cheese, yogurt, etc from).
First, the reason we usually get asked this is because many know we live in a city.  Not on the outskirts but just a few blocks from downtown!
Here  are a few pictures of our backyard (and our neighbors to be able to raise more animals):
Ok, not quite the backyard.  The goats  came in for a visit

If we can't raise or grow it ourselves we try and buy from local farmer's markets.  Several of which we are vendors as throughout the entire year.  We love being able to shop for locally grown food all year round!

We also use locally made soap, laundry detergent, lotions, bug repellent, and more from Goat Milk Stuff

Disclaimer: All posts and opinions are my own. They may not be the same as yours, but being individuals I can't please everybody. However this is my blog :P
