Wordless Wednesday-Recovery

My father-in-law (who had hip replacement surgery a little over a week ago) getting kid cuddles and comfort from Little Missy and Bubby (who then fell asleep).  They are his big "helpers" :)

Our business-custom work

WOW!  I have been so busy that I haven't posted in a month!

We have been going to farmer's markets and craft shows and overall staying busy.  Aaron has gotten more furniture jobs and custom orders recently.  We can always tell when Christmas is coming up because the amount of packages that we ship goes up (a lot!)  We usually ship maybe a couple packages (since many people do not want to pay shipping of a cutting board), but during November and December we ship probably close to 6-12 packages a week!  Which may not seem like a lot for some, but when we have to make a box and securely wrap items to make sure they are delivered without any dents or dings in them just packaging one box can take an hour or two!

Not only is it the time of year where we have to package and ship lots more stuff, it is also the time of year where I have to fill out and apply to several art and craft shows we would like to participate in next year.
Some boxes to be shipped and envelopes to apply for next years shows.

We have had some great custom items to make in the past month too!  Bill made a 10" deep recipe card box.  He also made a matching set with custom engraved fronts and another wine box for a wedding (this is the picture of the older one, since I am not sure if the others know they are getting one and I don't want to spoil the surprise :)

Aaron has made several different items this past month as well.  Including some of the following:
A new item that we have now made a few of recently.  Jenn-Air cook top covers and vent cover

A BIG 3' diameter turntable.  The first picture is on our 3'4"square table with a regular dinner plate on it for size.  The next picture is on the clients 6' diameter circle table and it doesn't seem so large there!

One of the random things Aaron has had to make recently, an old game frame/cover.

We also have a refinished mahogany stained table that needs to be delivered this weekend so I will try and get pictures of that when it is all put back together.  I have custom orders for a Texas shaped cutting board.

Hopefully I will be able to post a little more often than I have, but no promises with all the work that needs done.

Playtime fun

Today is Bubby's half birthday!  I can NOT believe he is 18months (1.5 years old) today!  He has grown so much.  Still doesn't talk a lot, he can convey most things with different variations of "Da".  He has been adding words though so that is good.  ECing (elimination communication) is going a little slower now since all he wants to do is run around!  I went through the same thing with Little Missy, so I hope he bounces back to being mostly potty learned again soon!

Since it was a milestone (and seemed like a good enough reason for me to put off cleaning and such right? :) We had some fun today since it was so nice outside (not too hot or cool).  Little Missy really wanted to paint and so I figured why have her make a mess inside when it was so nice outside.  So I gave her and Bubby a plate of finger paints and told them to have fun painting a board up at the end of the garden.

After they were done playing with the board I let them make feet prints all over the back pad.  They had so much fun!(Oh except for the cleaning up, neither of them seemed to like getting the paint scrubbed off much).

Little Missy has started in on the bad habit of nail biting!  Ugg!  I was a nail biter and I remember my mom's annoyance with me for doing it.  Not only her fingernails but also her toenails!  She likes having her nails painted and pretty so I painted them today in hopes of her stopping biting them down so far.  Of course since Little Missy got her nails done Bubby needed his done too.  Then mommy had to have hers done, so I let Little Missy paint them.  I tried letting Bubby help but he just took the nail polish off the brush and played with it.
You can see I missed some of the paint on Little Missy. :)
